To begin, we identify your goals, desired content/messaging, demographics of the audience and specific media resources to best reach those audiences. Then crafting a news release and developing various story ideas and pitches that are tailored to specific media for securing media interviews. Sherry’s specialty niche is providing publicity for authors and speakers, working with national best-selling authors, small press authors, and self-published authors. She has the resources to work from book concept to contracting with writers, editors, book cover development, printing, and distribution.

As the previous owner of a creative talent representation company, Butler Creative Resources, Sherry can source and hire various creative talent for adjunct campaign projects that require talent services from photographers, illustrators, web design, writers, music and video production, web designers and digital marketing specialists.

Prior background:

Marketing and Advertising Manager for Phoenix Metro’s largest furniture consignment company responsible for securing advertising buys for a $320,000 ad budget, creating the advertising campaigns and tracking the results. She also managed the CEO’s national speaking calendar.

PR and Marketing Manager for a family entertainment center in Scottsdale, AZ. Responsible for directing strategy with a local ad agency, managing a $500,000 budget developing advertising collateral, print, broadcast media production, media buying and PR.

Owner of Creative artist’s agency, Butler Creative Resources, marketing portfolios, negotiating contracts, and managing deadlines for illustrators, photographers, stock photography, writers, music production, video production and graphic design.

  • Desert Car Care of Chandler: Built awareness through consistent Phoenix Metro news coverage for seven years positioning Frank Leutz, owner of the business, as a Valley automotive service expert. Leutz provided monthly car care segments which aired on KNXV ABC15 mornings and KTVK Good Morning Arizona. Television news utilized Leutz’s expertise on breaking news and to create top specific segments like monsoon safety and preparedness and ABC15’s Operation Safe Road. Developed public awareness campaigns in partnership with Chandler Police Department that received valley-wide television coverage. Business received community recognition and awards. This enabled the development of Wrench Nation, including the ‘Wrench Nation Car Talk Radio Show‘ building a national platform for Leutz as a national industry expert and speaker at meetings and conventions. Sherry assisted in show development, producing, booked guests and promoted via podcast platforms and social media. Guests were national and international experts on topics of car culture, celebrity racing figures, car authors, inventors, technology and cybersecurity experts, etc. Managed Leutz in talent negotiations as expert spokesperson for Chevron Techron video series.
  • Aunt Rita’s Foundation: The nonprofit promotes HIV awareness and education in Arizona and provides grant funding to 13 HIV/AIDS nonprofit partners in Maricopa County.  Responsible for strategy and execution of consistent media relations and event publicity campaigns to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS within the Phoenix Metro community as well as statewide in Arizona.
    • Event publicity for yearly fundraising events: AIDS Walk, RED is the Night, Viva Aunt Ritas and RED Brunch as well as World AIDS Day with community viewing of NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt and Art for Aunt Rita’s.
    • Yearly awareness campaigns such as National HIV Testing Day for English and Spanish speaking citizens in partnership with Mayor Greg Stanton and First Lady Nicole Stanton.
    • A successful 2019 statewide media launch of Get Tested AZ, a new HIV testing initiative in Arizona that added 118 new free HIV testing locations in partnership with Walgreens, Sonora Quest Laboratories, Albertsons/Safeway pharmacies. This new program supports the overall goal of the Arizona Department of Health Services to have 90% of all HIV positive persons in Arizona tested and identified.
    • Significant milestone: 1) Facilitated partnership between ARF and Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) to champion AIDS/HIV education and awareness. Monthly meetings led to a full-day ‘Blacks and HIV Town Hall’ with over 50 influential community leaders. ACF’s Black Philanthropy Initiative with 12 other community collaborators hosted the ‘Because We Care Community Forum and Resource Fair,’ which was designed to educate and address HIV in the black community. These events increased participation of the Black community to AIDS Walk and RED Brunch yearly fundraisers.
  • Jaira’s Salon, NJ: Two month media and community relations campaign to avert a potential shutdown of family business in response to a breaking news story about the illegal cosmetic salon procedure of Brazilian waxing, in NJ.
    • Drove national/international media attention, including high-profile exposure on Rush Limbaugh show and Brazilian media.
    • Coordinated community support outreach efforts to personally contact the local government to stop the ban of Brazilian waxing services.
    • Governor of New Jersey wrote the NJ Board of Cosmetology requesting a review of the rulings and a suspension on banning the procedure.
    • Client received letter from Office of Attorney General reporting re-examination of issue and suspension of enforcement of ban on the procedure, allowing the family to open a second business location.
  • ONE Community: Executed strategic media campaign for ONE Community Unity Pledge throughout Maricopa County as well as the “Open For Business To Everyone,” in response to SB1062. This campaign became a community anthem throughout Maricopa County and was shared via all major media outlets and nationally. This positioned the organization as experts in the LGBT community.
  • Phoenix metro media relations for first time “Happy Valen’Tails: Adopt a Pound Dog Week” where 89% of dogs available from the local county shelter were successfully adopted, over 120 adoptions, and public education through media personalities and politicians to support the issues facing pets in the rescue system.
  • Sweet Republic Ice Cream:  Publicity campaign that led to expansive saturation of the Phoenix Metro market achieved through variety of story angles. This led to regional & national prominence in Bon Appétit Magazine, Sunset Magazine, segments on TLC and Food Network. Over three years of consistent media coverage increased sales at local retail store, inclusion in local events, to multiple flavors for sale at Whole Foods Markets.
  • Naturopathic News & Review: Increased awareness of publication to build subscriptions. Secured interview with Dr. Mehmet Oz for article to announce the recent honorary naturopathic doctorate degrees from Bastyr University for himself and his wife. Interview shared his thoughts about naturopathic medicine and the value it brings to patients.
  • Arizona Governor’s Office for Women and Children. Inaugural publicity campaign for domestic violence awareness. Partnership with Arizona Department of Revenue to inform the public about the opportunity to donate money to this statewide issue through their tax form. Results of campaign exceeded projections by 65 percent. Campaign renewed for following year.
